The bloom room

Together with Goedele Malisse I designed The Bloomroom, a reggaeton club where the occupancy of the space by people is central.
Striking in the design is a moving greenhouse that lives and breathes with its audience. It responds to the number of visitors: a ventilation system under the floor and a thin EFTE cladding provide air displacement, acoustic filtering, and a visual play of rhythm and movement. Due to the warming that occurs while dancing, warm air rises to a roof structure where rainwater cools the metal plates. The condensation that is created drips along a translucent layer and is illuminated with LED, creating a dreamy effect that enhances the atmosphere.
The Bloomroom is a place where movement, interaction, and sensory experience come together in balance. The output of this project consisted of a perspective section and an animation video in which illustrative figures explore the space.
